Barcelona Hit With Major Injury Blow As New Signing Suffers Knee Problem On International Duty

Barcelona is sweating over the fitness of Arturo Vidal after the summer signing was injured on international duty with Chile, Express UK reports.
Vidal only signed for Barcelona from Bayern Munich in a £27m deal this summer.
The midfielder arrived as a replacement for Andres Iniesta, who left the Nou Camp for Japan during the transfer window.
But Barca face a nervous wait for an update on the midfielder after he reportedly suffered an injury this week.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Vidal had to abandon training with his Chile team-mates following pain in his knee.
The 29-year-old sustained a serious knee injury in April 2015 and then again three years later.
He was thought to be back to full fitness and joined up with his Chile team-mates this week.
Mundo Deportivo report that Barcelona gem Vidal will not play in Chile’s friendly with Japan on Friday.
It may be the case that he is forced to return back to his club if the injury is too serious for him to be a viable option for Chile’s second match of the international break, against South Korea next Tuesday.
Back in April Vidal thanked fans for their support after his Bayern season was ended early.
"These sad times are less sad thanks to the thousands of messages of support that I have received from all of you,” he wrote on Twitter.
“I’m not going to let up, I never give up.
“A big hug to all the beautiful people that think about me and support me at every step.”
