Europa League! Frustrated Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger Speaks On Crashing Out Of Europa League Against Atletico Madrid

Wenger said he was desperately sad that Arsenal had crashed out, denying him the chance to win a European title with the Gunners.
Arsenal were nailed by a Diego Costa strike in Madrid, having gifted Atletico an away goal last week.
The Frenchman was clearly distraught with the result.
The 68-year-old, who had announced his retirement at the end of the season, told BT Sport, “Well it’s very sad. Very, very, very sad. I’m very sad tonight.
“Unfortunately you have to go through that in our game. It can be very cruel, but sometimes very nice. The suffering is of course very strong tonight.
“I am like the team, very sad and very disappointed.
“Even very frustrated, as well, because when you go out of a competition and you had the performances in 180 minutes that we had, it is very difficult to take.
“We didn’t manage the important moments of the games well. We were 1-0 up at home and conceded a stupid goal.
“Tonight, one minute before half-time we conceded on the counter-attack and you know it’s a critical stage of the game. Psychologically you know these are crucial moments.
“It was then easier for them. They played with a bit of fear at the start but at 1-0 up they have the cushion. That goal was absolutely vital tonight.”
He also spoke about Costa’s strike, saying, “We had the ball at the start, then lost it with a stupid ball.
“But I must say, Diego Costa is Diego Costa and that’s why he’s one of the best strikers in the world.”
