2018/2019 JAMB/UTME Registration procedure - steps


The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board said it has begun registration for the 2018 unified tertiary matriculation examinations (UTME).
The exam body said the registration would take place in over 700 computer based test (CBT) centres in 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The organization’s Head of Media, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, made the announcement in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
He said the exercise would end in February next year.
The statement reads, “We will also want to state clearly that the board does not post candidates to any examination town other than the one chosen by the candidate at the point of registration.
“Candidates are, however, advised to register on time before the available spaces in their town of choice are exhausted.
STEP 1

PROFILE REGISTRATION
One Cell (mobile) number can be used by one candidate The Cell phone number used for the text message is automatically tied to the Candidate’s name and will be used in all communications related to his/her 2018 Application/Examination
Candidate sends his/her name [Surname, First-Name, Middle-Name (if any)] by text (SMS) to this should be maximum of 38 characters + 2 spaces between names = 40 characters in all to 55019 e.g Tinubu Adamu Odumegwu (Surname and first name are mandatory)
A Profile Code of 10 characters is received by the candidate on the same telephone number
STEP 2

SELF HELP IN CASE OF MISTAKE OR LOSS OF PROFILE CODE
To correct a mistake in candidate’s name, send the [CORRECT Surname First-Name Middle-Name] to 55019 as a text message from the same mobile number. To retrieve a lost Profile Code, send [RESEND] to 55019 as text message from the same mobile number

STEP3

Then, proceed to any commercial bank (UBA , Firstbank, Union bank etc) to purchase the JAMB E-pin. When you get to the bank, ask for instruction from any of the bank staffs you see. You will be asked to provide the confirmation code which JAMB sent to your phone, they will need it in order to generate your E-pin.
STEP 4
Now that you have purchased the JAMB E-pin, you can now go to any JAMB CBT registered centre you know. You will be asked to provide your o’level result, JAMB E-pin, your confirmation code, and your passport ( they might use the laptop to snap you).
STEP 5
After you have successfully registered for the JAMB 2018, you will be given a print out of the JAMB registration and also the compulsory storybook.
BREAKDOWN OF 2018 UTME REGISTRATION FEES.
JAMB E-pin + storybook =#5000 + #500 ( to be paid together in the bank). CBT registration fee= #700 (to be paid after you have successfully registered for JAMB 2018). The total cost is N6200
You should also know that the phone number you will use for receiving the confirmation code must not have been used previously for that purpose.
